February 28, 2006 -- Wilson
Petty Kosmo & Turner is very pleased to
announce that Meryl Maneker, a partner in
the law firm, has been elected to the American
Law Institute (ALI).
ALI's mission is to "promote
the clarification and simplication of the
law and its better adaptation to social needs,
to secure the better administration of justice,
and to encourage and carry on scholarly and
scientific legal work." It is a very
prestigious organization within the legal
community, with members selected on the basis
of professional achievement and a proven commitment
to improving the legal field.
ALI membership is not restricted
to attorneys. ALI members also include judges
and law teachers from all areas of the United
States and some foreign countries.
Ms. Maneker joins Vickie
Turner, another WPKT partner who is also a
member of ALI. Maneker's practice focuses
on the defense of class actions as well as
the areas of product liability, employment
and general business litigation.
WPKT congratulates Meryl
Maneker on her new membership in the American
Law Institute. The San Diego Daily Transcript
ran a headline story about Ms. Maneker's achievement
in its March 1, 2006 issue. A brief excerpt
of the "Law Briefs" article appears
